Letter from Armenian civil society organizations to NATO Secretary General Mr. JENS STOLTENBERG,

On October 14, 2020, a number of civil society organizations addressed a letter to NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus, James Appathurai, NATO Head of Mission for the Caucasus in Brussels, Despina Afentulin, NATO Head of Mission in Georgia, Rosaria Puglis, and NATO Ambassadors to Armenia in order to prevent actions by NATO member Turkey aimed at escalating the military tension over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Despite allegations of crimes and irregularities, to date we have not received any response from any NATO or NATO member state to the NGO’s request regarding the actions of its member Turkey.
We believe that NATO, as a military-political structure fighting international terrorism, must take active steps to prevent further terrorist acts, the deployment of terrorist units in the South Caucasus and the region as a whole.
