THE MEDICAL WORKERS WERE TRAINED ON SPECIFICITIES OF WORK WITH VULNERABLE POPULATIONS
On November 25, 2022, a training on providing competent services to vulnerable populations was held in Yerevan for medical workers, which was organized by New Generation Humanitarian NGO within the framework of the “Trans* Map in EECA” project with financial support of the Eurasian Coalition on Health, Rights, Gender and Sexual Diversity (ECOM).
The aim of the training is to raise the awareness of the relevant professionals on the principles of an inclusive approach in order to reduce negative prejudicial stereotypes towards vulnerable populations and increase access to healthcare services.
The trainer was Hmayak Avetisyan, New Generation Humanitarian NGO Capacity Building Coordinator, expert on sexuality, gender issues and trans* competency.
The training was attended by both representatives of RA NCID, as well as students of Yerevan State Medical University.

In particular, trans* identities, the depathologization of “transsexualism”, gender transition interventions and other issues were discussed.
