BILATERAL COOPERATION PRODUCES RESULTS
Foreign citizens A.S. (name changed) and A.M. (name changed) applied to New Generation Humanitarian NGO and informed that their oral mucosal transudate testing for HIV had shown a positive result ,. They were referred to the National Center for Infectious Diseases (NCID) for further screening and inclusion into follow-up care and treatment program in case of confirmation of their HIV positive status. The NCID screening confirmed their HIV positive status, but the necessary medication was not provided to the beneficiaries because they did not have a residence permit in the Republic of Armenia.
New Generation Humanitarian NGO applied to the Ministry of Health, then NCID, with a request to provide the free medical care and treatment as provided for and guaranteed by the by the State.
As a result of the cooperation, foreign citizens have been enrolled in treatment and care programs.

Article 8 of the RA Law on Prevention of the disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus.
- In case of confirmation of HIV infection in the organism of the foreign citizens and stateless persons who are in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, their treatment is organized as provided for by the legislation of the Republic of Armenia.
13 clause of № 75-Ն decision of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia of 22.11.2013 on “Approval of the standard of organizing prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS within state-guaranteed free of charge medical aid and service”
- ARV therapy is free of charge and is provided to all prescribedpatients who have given their consent after receiving relevant information on treatment.
