TRAINING-DISCUSSION WITH PARTICIPATION OF 12 THERAPISTS FROM YEREVAN AND PROVINCES OF ARMENIA TOOK PLACE

On September 16-18, 2020 training-discussion on HIV and AIDS, HCV and HBV, Importance of Prevention of Sitgma and Discrimination in medical institutions took place with participation of 12 therapists from Yerevan and provinces of Armenia.

 

The training was organized by New Generation Humanitarian NGO with the financial support of Gilead Sciences Inc. and in cooperation with RA MOH National Center for Infectious Diseases CJSC.

 

 On the first day of the meeting, September 16 Yulya Manukyan, infection disease doctor of medical aid and service department of RA MOH National Center for Infectious Diseases CJSC,  spoke about HIV and AIDS, introduced to the participants the treatment methods and registed successes of Armenia in the field of HIV and AIDS, World Experience and Innovations in this field. On the second part of the session the doctor discussed Pre-Exposure and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis for HIV with the participants.

 

The expert of the second training day, Narina Sargsyants, deputy director on medical affairs of the RA MOH National Center for Infectious Diseases CJSC discussed the HCV and HBV prevention, care and treatment with the paricipants.

 

The third and fourth days of the meeting were dedicated to prevention of stigma and discrimination in medical insitutions,  professional ethics and work with vulnerable groups of the society, medical confidentiality.

 

NGNGO lawyer Shushan Khnkoyan introduced to the participants the definition, types and manifestations of discrimination. The importance of exclusion of discrimination during provision of medical aid and the impact of discrimination on public health and treatment.

 

 

Hovhannes Madoyan, acting director of RA MOH National Center for Infectious Diseases CJSC, presented the definition of  medical ethics, importance of maintaining the principles and norms, medical confidentiality, the patient’s rights and medical worker’s obligations during provision of services. The right to health and specificities of the work with vulnerable groups of the society, were also discussed with the participants.

 

 

 

The meeting took place in an atmoshpere of free-and-easy questions and answers, active discussions. The participants were awarded with certificates of participation.
