AWARE AND PROTECTED. TRAINING FOR MSM BENEFICIARIES
On September 10, 2021, a series of training courses entitled Aware and Protected was launched within the framework of HIV Prevention in Armenia project implemented by New Generation Humanitarian NGO. The aim of the trainings is to develop the capacities of HIV-vulnerable groups in the areas of sexuality, leadership, HIV prevention, right to health, to promote the development of safe sexual behavior about HIV among the beneficiaries, and their engagement in decision-making processes.
On April 15, 2022, a regular training was held for 30 MSM beneficiaries.
On the first part of the training trainer-expert Levon Chilingaryan presented the topic of HIV prevention and the importance of testing. He spoke about the HIV infection, ways of transmission, methods of HIV testing. As a result of the discussions, the participants realized the importance of developing safe sexual behavior against HIV, as well as the importance of regular testing.
The training was continued by the organization’s lawyer Shushan Khnkoyan, who presented the topic of Right to Health. She spoke about the human rights while receiving health support and services, types of services of free medical care guaranteed by the state, rights and responsibilities of health support and service providers, as well as the RA Law on Preventing the Disease Caused by HIV.
The training course was held in a warm atmosphere, the participants had the opportunity to ask questions, make comments and get full answers.
HIV Prevention in Armenia project is implemented by New Generation Humanitarian NGO with financial support of the RA Ministry of Health from the funds of The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in cc the National Center for Infectious Diseases CJSC of the RA Ministry of Health.
