Innovations in HIV Prevention and Public Health Services at the Yerevan DropIn Center

In June 2025, a public information session was held at the Yerevan DropIn Center, initiated by the New Generation Humanitarian NGO. The session focused on innovations in HIV prevention, hepatitis-related services, and raising awareness about available healthcare options in Armenia.

The session was led by Levon Chilingaryan, who presented the latest developments both globally and locally in the field of HIV. A number of essential services were discussed—many of which are still unknown or misunderstood by the general public.

Did you know that:

  • HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) in Armenia is available not only for daily use, but also in the event-driven “2+1+1” dosing scheme?
  • HIV Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) can be accessed at any time, as long as it is within 72 hours after potential exposure?
  • Hepatitis C treatment is provided free of charge within the state healthcare system?
  • Hepatitis B vaccination is available to the public and is an effective preventive tool?

The session was not only an opportunity to share knowledge but also a safe space for open discussion, questions, and practical guidance. Participants learned how they and their communities can access these essential services.

New Generation Humanitarian NGO continues its mission to promote awareness, protect the health of vulnerable groups, and eliminate barriers to vital information and care.
