Armenian Youth in Germany: A Creative Camp Experience

On July 17-27, 2025, with the support of the New Generation Humanitarian NGO, 12 young people from Armenia took part in an international summer camp held in Bahretal, Germany. The camp was organized by the youth organization JunOst and brought together participants from several countries, aiming to promote intercultural exchange, creative thinking, and personal development.

The camp focused on helping young people discover and strengthen their unique abilities through creative expression. It was specifically designed for young creatives, offering opportunities to grow their artistic skills and explore new ideas through international interaction.

The Armenian participants were actively involved in every aspect of the programsharing experiences, engaging in group discussions, collaborative projects, interactive workshops, and cultural presentations with their peers from across Europe.

The Armenian team proudly presented elements of national culture. Some performed traditional dances and songs, while others showcased artwork inspired by renowned Armenian painter Martiros Saryan, reimagined in a modern style.

For many, this was their first-ever visit to a European city. They were deeply impressed by the values, diversity, and structure they encountered, noting that the experience opened new horizons and paths for self-growth.

The program was made possible thanks to the long-standing partnership between the New Generation Humanitarian NGO and several youth organizations in Germany and beyond. For over a decade, NGNGO has been implementing youth exchange programs that empower young people to connect, grow, and lead.

Levon Chilingaryan, the group leader from Armenia, also participated in the camp as a trainer and team coordinator.

“Programs like this are crucial platforms for personal development, leadership, and intercultural dialogue,” he noted. “Next year, we are planning to implement two more exchange programs for the youth residing in Armenia, offering them new opportunities to engage on an international level.”
