AWARE AND PROTECTED. SERIES OF TRAINING COURSES IN VANADZOR AND GYUMRI

The training series under the title AWARE AND PROTECTED continue within the framework of the project on HIV Prevention in Armenia implemented by New Generation Humanitarian NGO.

 

The training series is aimed at developing the capacities of HIV most-at-risk groups in the areas of sexuality, leadership, HIV prevention, right to health, promoting the development of safe sexual behavior among the beneficiaries, and their engagement in HIV related decision-making processes.

 

On September 25 and 28, 2021 training sessions were organized correspondingly in Vanadzor and Gyumri cities of Armenia.

 

The topics of the Importance of HIV Prevention and Testing and the Right to Health were presented within the framework of the trainings.

 

Trainer Levon Chilingaryan presented the topic of the Importance of HIV Prevention and Testing. The trainer talked about HIV, ways of transmission, the types and importance of testing. During the topic discussion the participants realized the importance of safe sexual behavior in relation with HIV and the importance of testing.

 

The training sessions were concluded by NGO lawyer Lusine Gasparyan who presented the topic of the Right to Health. She spoke about human rights in the context of receiving medical aid and services, types of services within the state-guaranteed free of charge medical care, rights and responsibilities of providers of medical aid and services, as well as about the Law on Prevention of the Disease Caused by HIV of the Republic of Armenia.

 

The training sessions were held in an atmosphere of active discussions, questions and answers.

 

 

 

HIV Prevention in Armenia project is implemented by New Generation Humanitarian NGO with financial support of the RA Ministry of Health from the funds of The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria through the National Center for Infectious Diseases CJSC of the RA Ministry of Health.
